Concept
The patient came about as a part of learning to make hair in Maya.
I was inspired by specific patterns and styles combining cold, grungy metal with golden-black ornaments and patterns.
This was my third attempt at making hair cards - I had tried my hand on two separate occasions in 2023 and in 2024 with the game "still".
Previously, I had made hair only in Zbrush using spheres and the Bend Curve function (e.g. Veon in 2023, Nuae in 2024).

Making Of
I sculpted the Patient and his clothes in Zbrush and blocked the brass knuckles and staff in Maya. I painted the character´s skin in Zbrush and textured the rest inside Maya.
I used the Sweep Mesh Function in Arc Mode to convert curves to meshes in order to create hair. I analyzed the way hair falls using references and used a haircap underneath the strands to fill blank spots.
